Signa - Typeface

Client: University Final Major Project Categories: Typeface, Typography, Sign-painting Brief. Signa is a typeface designed specifically for shop signs or advertising. It has been influenced by badly handwritten signs combined with the aesthetics of a sign painters casual script typeface. In this case, it is a non-connected casual typeface whereas many others are all connected. Every sign painter has their own style of casuals and this is mine. The idea came from being highly interested in Ghost Signs and wanting to become a sign painter myself. Over the course of the last semester I have started to practicing sign painting as I wanted to take my skills to another level. Signa is a fully functioning typeface in which I hope to expand on further after University, adding in more characters, alternative characters and differently languages. **This typeface isn't fully finished and is a side project I am going to continue to develop and refine**
